We've been on the hunt for quite a while to find something auction-style for those that live in Bayview Road, O'Farrell Street, and Burns Street Yarraville. Although these streets do feature in our aerial views of Yarraville and Seddon, it's not the same as a land auction from the land boom opportunities of 1888.
We also found the original newspaper advertisement from Thursday, 5 Jul 1888 that the auctioneer spruiked these allotments as "one of the most remunerative investments of the day" and the area as "fast becoming the Liverpool of the South”.
